Loading...Ford has announced the new EcoSport, an SUV which will hit the UK in the next 18 months.
The Fiesta-based compact crossover was originally introduced in Brazil back in 2003 but the new version will now be launched here for the first time as part of Ford's new global strategy.
The distinctive new car features a larger version of the new signature grille, as found on the Fiesta and Mondeo, cladding on the side skirts and bumpers to protect the car when off road, and slim, swept back headlights.
It will also be equipped with Ford's new SYNC voice control system which is becoming the standard for all the new Ford models.
Engine details are few and far between at the moment but based on the trend with other new cars Ford has been launching we can expect the EcoSport to come with the award-winning 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine.
The EcoSport is part of the new family of Ford SUVs in Europe which will include a new Kuga and an all new Ford Edge.
