An online forum is a place where people can have open discussions about any given topic. Through common interests people can meet other like-minded members and so, forums are a great means of making new friends.
They’re also perfect for gaining a bit of knowledge about given topics. People who share the same interest and passion as you might know answers to questions you haven’t been able to work out, and you might even be able to return that favour.
Finding the forum
On the club, the forum can be selected through the menu bar. Once clicked, the link will direct you to the forum page where you will see a list of categories of discussion.
Using the forum
First of all you should find the area of discussion you wish to contribute to. For example, this could be the ‘Lounge’ where discussion is not related to (Brand) and so, is ‘off-topic chat’.
After finding the right category of discussion and selecting it, you will be redirected to a page showing all of the threads (topics) within the category. From this point you can choose to communicate within an existing thread, or create your own on a topic of your choice.
Posting
There are two forms of posting in the forums; the first is when starting a thread topic. In this instance you would enter the desired category of discussion, and click the ‘Start New Topic’ button located at the top right of the screen.
From here all you need to do is enter a topic title, write out your discussion in the topic box and press ‘Post New Topic’.
The other form of posting in the forums is as a reply. After finding a topic you wish to contribute to, you can reply to it. You can do this by clicking the ‘Add Reply’ found at both the top and bottom of the thread page; you can also reply to specific posts via the button link in the comment’s box.
Simply select your method of replying, type your response and send it.
Advanced: You can add pictures to your posts by clicking the ‘attach file’ button and selecting an image.
Viewing the forums
The forums have a simple layout. Click the topic category, select a topic, then scroll down through the thread to read the most recent posts.
On the left of the post you can see the user who sent the post and their profile information, such as username, location and how many posts they’ve posted.
