  5. Missing FSH Dealer issues

i bought my car a 2014 zetec s from evans halshaw on finance and was told and saw in advert it had full service history and when picked car up was shown ford folder presumed all ok but on getting home the service book had one stamp in it by them so I asked them where the other service stamps are etc... to be told they would look into it, two weeks goes by and not a word from them so I rang Barclays who financed the car and they told me the car had to be full history as finance agreement stated, they rang evans halshaw and at my request told them to come up with the history or the car will be returned.a day later I had a call from europacar who the original owner was and they told me car had 3 services by halford autocentre and emailed me the list and receipts of services,i confirmed this with Halfords and maybe your cars prvious owner was europacar hire as I have been told they buy a lot off of europacar.
  6. RS Owners check this out :/

    @Philf1, heads up buddy...
  7. Missing FSH Dealer issues

After their famous extended warranty which doesn't cover a whole list of things, the last one being "any other undefined item" - so, what, ANYTHING on the bleeding car then?! - and when they replaced my badges the just stuck the new one over the old one I am reluctant to go back to them. Why can't they understand that while being a charlatan in the business world is indeed a short term gain, it would be far more lucrative in the medium and long term to actually give a crap about what your customers think of you?

  15. My Mk3 ZS - Battery issues

Great stuff IanTT, that's good to know.. Attached is a quick pic of my installed battery. Then I have two choices, any preferences between the two or further suggesting guys? I notice both the batteries I've pictured are higher amperage than the original. Will I have any ECU issues? I feel I need reassurance please!! (Thanks in advance)
  16. Hello from Bathgate

Welcome Gemma nice car, have you many plans for it? I'm not far from you either
  17. Focus MK1 Rear wiper upgrade - MK2 ??

MK2 rear wiper arms are a direct fit to a MK1. I did this modification many times back in the days without any problems. Late MK2.5 rear wiper arms however are different and will not fit.
  18. Looking for a reversing camera adaptor

it's working now , but the guide line is not show up, the BCm need some data from Ford Genuine camera module!!
  19. Rear parking sensors mk3 (2013)

Both the rear parking sensor system and the Active Park Assist system can be retrofitted without any problems. To retrofit the rear parking sensors you need the following parts: 4x Parking sensors. 2x Sensor bracket. 2x Sensor bracket. PAM module (Rear sensors only). 2x Push-pin (needed to mount the module). Wiring harness. To retrofit the Active Park Assist system you also need the following additional parts: 6x Parking sensors 4x Sensor bracket PAM module (Front & Rear sensors) Front lower grille with sensor holes. PDC/Active Park Assist switch. Engine bay wiring harness. Rear ABS/ESP sensors (Active Park Assist uses different sensors that can detect both forward and reverse motion). The front parking sensor wiring is not available seperately. This wiring is part of the complete engine bay wiring harness and costs an arm and a leg (over €1000,-). The easiest way to add the front parking sensor wiring is by taking it out of a scrap car or by building the additional wiring from scratch using the correct color wiring, connectors and connector pins. After installaton of all parts the system needs to be activated in the Central Car Configuration using a suitible Ford specific diagnostic system. I am currently working on a few CANbus related projects. One of these projects is a converter that makes it possible to display the parking sensor information of a cheap generic parking sensor kit on the FCDIM. I use the speaker output signal of the cheap generic parking sensor kit as an input signal for an Arduino Nano with (specially designed) CANbus shield. By measuring the frequency of the speaker output signal (beeps) the Arduino sends the corresponding CANbus signal to the FCDIM. I currently have a test setup on the table which is working perfectly. However I have not tested yet inside a car. The only downside of this solution is that the FCDIM shows the same distance for all sensors (instead of individually). However my solution is still a lot better than no parking sensor infomation on the FCDIM at all.

Hi I'm thinking about installing a cone INDUCTION kit onto my Gord Focus Ghia MK2 2.0 desiel but I'm unsure how to do this as I was going to remove the factory fitted air box and do it that why but I've read that you can get alot of heat absorption from it . Could someone please advice me Thanks Mark
  21. Very Poor on Fuel

I had a VERY slow leak in only one tyre, had to keep pumping in more air every 1000 miles and when I did, my MPG would go up quite noticeably than before. While there are other factors involved and I'm by no means an expert, but I'd say your biggest culprit is the 17" rims, but I'm not an expert. In a not so similar case with my car and my sisters car (both 1.6 MKII Focuses, both have the 116ps Ti-VCT engine, both are 2005 plated) My car can pull up hills fine in 5th where she'd have to drop to 3rd gear to go up the same hill. (Telegraph hill on the A380 towards Torquay is an example of the sort of hill I'm on about.)
  22. Very Poor on Fuel

As above posts have said there cud be lots of variables which can affect mpg but there does seem to be something a miss there. My mk2.5 2.0 titanium normally gets low to mid 30s round town and then mid 40s when on a long run. That's with 55k on clock and twice a year oil change monthly checked tyre pressures new air filter and plugs. 16" alloys though. While I'd expect larger alloys to decrease mpg wudnt think by that much.. Silly question is it the same fuel in each. As in bought from same garage? Using additive in 1 not the other?
  23. Looking for a reversing camera adaptor

I have the Genuine reverse camera and its the second one and gone so im in the process of trying to convert it to fit a cheaper camera as the ford one is £150 area and cheaper ones are around £10,i have the connectors all there in the tail gate and got 2 adapters which one is the Fakra one (for picture) and got as far as camera comes on but rolls, mine works from the mirror not the display but im slowly getting there just don't know why it rolls as you can see the picture if it didn't.

  27. Things I Don't Like

Dropping a special brass bolt down the plughole . After I had said to myself, as I started the job, do not drop anything down that totally inaccessible plughole! It was the bolt for the shower control tap, and the U bend was under the sealed in shower tray, on a solid floor, and the next access point was in the main drain manhole outside. Fortunately, I did try a magnet on a sibling bolt, and to my surprise, a strong neodymium iron magnet did just stick, so it was a stainless steel bolt, not plated brass as I thought. And first fish with the magnet on a suitable probe got it back out again But it still took me a while to recover from the mistake. I had been rather happy with finding that I could still get spares for the ancient Mira 722 control, despite it being in the house when I moved in in 1998, probably installed in the early '90s. £11 for a simple little plastic bush was daylight robbery really, but for the work in changing the shower unit, piped direct into a tiled wall, £11 was cheap. But it all went a bit pear shaped as I put it back together. The bolt dropped as I was putting the cover on, bounced, then hole in one. Straight down the plug. I know the feeling. This time of year, I have a heap of jobs to do on house & car, before Winter. But a load of work rolled in, just when not wanted. I am not a very happy bunny. But nor are my customers, as I am having to give them long delivery dates, well into November. And my prices are pretty well fixed, and limited by what the jobs are worth, plus costs have risen, so it is not like I can make loads of money. In fact, it means I now have to order batches of about 50 pcbs to be built, to make the next 10 or so units, so I will be laying out almost as much cash as I get in. It might be ages, or even never if my customers get too fed up, before I get that money back. Ah, the joys of self employment!
  28. My Mk3 ZS - Battery issues

OK, so I arrived back from Spain 7pm yesterday (been away for a week). Jumped into my 2011 180bhp Petrol Zetec-S and nipped over to my friends. Was there for half an hour or so, a quick lap of the town and home again. Happy everything was good with the car. This morning i unlocked the car as normal, jumped in and pushed the start button. Click, click, click went (I presume a relay). Yes it unlocked the central locking, but no displays fired up so i pushed the car out of the garage and jumped it from my older 02 Focus. Surprised to find out when I revealed the actual battery that I had no hope of connecting the negative jump lead clamp to the negative terminal as its well under the scuttle panel. Followed the earthing lead to the body earthing point and presumed this would be OK to connect the negative jump lead clamp to. Fired up the old Focus, let it for 10 minutes charging the newer Focus. Had dash display this time but when i tried the start button all I got was still click, click, click. Jumped out into the old Focus and rev'ed to 3k for a few minutes before jumping back into the newer Focus. Held down the OK button on the steering wheel (either one works, just outputting on a different display) and got it into 'TEST' mode. Checked the battery reading which read 13.9v. Retried starting the newer Focus. Still just click, click, click.. Presumed not enough voltage to start her and called my garage friend down the road. He turned up a little while later with one of those computer tablet sized battery jump starters. This smaller jump start until had smaller clamps on it and as such clipped onto the batteries negative terminal directly itself. Engine fired up straight away so I presumed it was maybe a bad connection that i had made on the negative earthing point. He trundled off again and I left the car idling for 10-15 minutes before taking it for a 38 minute drive around our local area. It was a pretty hard drive to be honest as I was miffed loosing my 42.2mpg on the dash readout due to a dead battery. Was something like 32mpg when I got home. Interestingly whilst driving around one corner near where I live (and this only happened once during the whole journey) I dropped from 4th to 3rd gear. Whilst the clutch was depressed I had a flash of the battery light and what may of been the ABS light flashed on for half a second, but the time I realised I had already let the clutch out and presumably bump started the engine again? It all happened very quickly so I cannot be sure. I drove the rest of the way home a little slower just in case. Got home, reversed the car back into its spot, pushed the Start button again to switch off the engine and everything went dead again. No dash display, no central locking, nothing. So I'm after a new battery. My garage friend asked if I had Stop/Start feature and to be honest I didn't think I had. (Never did it for me although I'm aware it can be very problematic) so he asks me do I have a A button with a circle around it next to the rear window heated windscreen. Yes I tell him, apparently confirming that I do have Start/Stop just that I never had it turned on! Learnt something new today! Although seemingly I've an more expensive battery and he was aware that the ECU needed to be told that a new battery was installed else it wouldn't charge it? Or some other reason. So my questions for all of you in the know; (1) What battery do I need to replace my existing battery. I've read that it needs to be the same voltage or ampage or something to allow the Stop/Start to work? Yes I'm being lazy asking rather than going outside in the dark and trying to get a make/model off of the battery under torch light. If I don't get a reply tonight, yes i'll do that tomorrow morning. (2) What kinda price am I looking at for this replacement battery? Obviously more than a usual battery I presume? I'm living in Ireland and will be getting a price from my garage friend, I'm only asking so that then I will have a little knowledge if the price I'm told is a good price or not. If not then i'll source it directly ad he'll just plug in and get the ECU talking to the new battery. (3) Is there anything else I should be aware of? Again, I presume there probably is! Thanks for taking the time to read my essay, and I appreciate any help that I'm given. Thanking you in advance.
