Posting in General Chat thread.   11/11/2017

it has been noted that too many Members are posting messages in the General Chat area instead of the correct Forums. Any messages posted in the General Chat area that are not General Chat will be deleted without warning and offenders may recieve warning points if repeated instances are seen from that Member. There are plenty of different Club areas that encompass 99% of Ford related posts, please select and use the correct one. If anyone is not sure of which area to post something then feel free to P/M myself or other Senior Staff for guidance. The Moderating Staff are having to spend far too much time chasing this problem instead of maintaining the other areas of the forum.

  3. Engine service diy 😬

I've got same Engine as you, bottom of engine just off centre right hand side if your at the front of the engine for the filter.. I always use genuine Ford filters as only £10 and use gd quality oil. Castrol or Petronas is what I use. Don't do engine flush personally as other ppl have said can cause more harm than gd if not careful. Easy engine to work on though, Ford have done a gd job with the layout.
  4. Tyre Management System

Yea. The only option I've seen is to reset the tyre pressure monitoring. I assume the system then monitors changes from the pressure recorded at this point.
  5. 1.6 Diesel fuel filter

They did look similar! Thanks for your reply! Any advise on changing it? I did my old mondeo tdci lots of times and hoping to this one too!
  6. Which automatic Fiesta to buy?

I still have my 1.4 auto fiesta, (got it from new), now around 7 years old and never had a problem with it's 4 speed automatic CVT gearbox. (Cars done around 65,000 miles). Obviously its not as good on fuel & emissions (& therefore tax) as newer fiestas with their 6 speed dual clutch automatic transmissions, but you'll expect that if looking to purchase an older car.

  8. Tyre Management System

Thanks - I think it might be a "safety" feature on the Focus as the figure shown on my console on the Astra was always different to what the pump dial said so I was never sure which one was correct. At least now I only have to rely on the one!
  9. Reverse camera fitted, cheap ones work fine.

Same camera i got, mine had a Genuine ford one when i had the car over 3 years ago but camera went dead and no way i was going to pay £200. I just went and got the Kit for under £20 which was monitor/camera and all the leads, wasn't expecting a lot from it but shocked me and night is like day. My wires in the back was all there just had to snip some and join for a new plug but works amazing.
  10. nice snow pic

looks bad over them parts mate,,we are going to get more over here on sunday well that's the crack lol
  11. Tyre Management System

Not that I've seen on my 2017 Ti x. Think it just alerts when pressure drops by a certain amount.
  12. MK3 Focus - What not to do with FoCCCus...

Does anyone use a Battery Support Unit with Forscan or FoCCCus? I've seen on forums for other cars that it seems to be almost mandatory when doing any re-configuring or coding, to stop the volts dropping too low and scrambling the modules. Is this something that should be used with Fords or do they not have this problem?
  13. Thankfully I work for a recovery company so I'm going to see if I can take a truck and recover it lol Thanks for the analysis guys. And I'll get the tyre changed too!
  14. Well spotted! That's almost through to the carcass. £500 fine right there
  15. Tyre Management System

Hi, I have just purchased a Ford Focus having driven a Vauxhall Astra for the past 6 years. One of the things the Vauxhall Astra had within the Tyre Management System was the facility to show you the actual tyre pressures of each tyre. I'm not sure if this facility is available within the Ford Focus Tyre Management System? Mark P.
  16. Water leak

Hi there, I'm new to the forum. My Focus 2006 1.6 tdci has developed a water leak. I top the bottle up to the full mark, drive about sixty miles and the water level is near the bottom of the fill bottle. Checked for visible leaks, can't see any. However after leaving the vehicle overnight and the car is stone cold, when I remove the coolant filler cap the bottle is still pressurized and the water level comes back up the bottle an inch or two? I don't think it can be a leak in the water system or water pump etc as this would lose all pressure overnight I'm thinking. I'm suspecting the head gasket in some way but struggling to understand how it's retaining pressure for so many hours? I recently had a couple of the copper washers on the injectors changed due to blow by and the mechanic told me he had a mother trying to remove number two injector. I'm wondering if he has in some way damaged or cracked the head? The water leak arrived immediately after the injector repair. Your help would be much appreciated by a retired old timer who will attempt his own repairs.
  17. My Mk7.5 Zetec S

No problem at all bud. I just sent back all the exterior lights to ceuk for a refund. Been nothing but an ***** ache dealing with them. I have my views on why their bulbs are so bad. My LED side lights are now blinking too and look like they have gone "rusty"! So they will be going in the bin. Absolute joke! I'm going to go back to looking at auto beam stuff now.

  19. Focus 07 Wiring Loom

UPDATE . So I changed the three spark plugs no change , changed the coil everything running normal .. for now. I dont want to touch anything else just yet
  20. Electric Wing Mirror Problem

i had this problem on passenger side on mk6.5 fiesta. i just unplugged the connector so it did not fold in. My worry was that the cogs etc would break and leave it stuck in. so i would prefer it just to stay out. unplugging it also meant no adjustment or heat. This was some years ago, I did try to find out at that time which colour wire did the motor power but could not find it out. I would have just cut the motor wire if i had found out which. Perhaps someone knows which wire as they have been around longer now and more people would have had this problem
  21. whilst not a helpful comment in the circumstances, looks like the tyre has some adverse inner edge wear
  22. Engine service diy 😬

I always err on the side of caution when someone mentions wanting an oil change done with an oil flush additive. I think for some they have seen it in Halfords or heard of it and think it must be great stuff. My personal opinion is, on a well serviced vehicle using quality modern oil, I don’t see a need for it. on some vehicles with a wet belt it’s a big no no to add flushing additives.
  23. Engine service diy 😬

That’s brilliant, thank you wilto 👍 will definitely purchase a Haynes manual dee_82 strange that with all the technology a book is the best source of info.. Thanks for all your help will have a go and report back
  24. Reverse camera fitted, cheap ones work fine.

I installed a camera on my fiesta. Camera was just around £8 and the image isn't bad.
  25. Ford Focus 2007 MK2 Estate 1.8 diesel Just popping round the corner and felt as if I had picked up an empty box under the car, grinding noise etc, stopped and nothing. Turned round and drove home slowly – 1st and 2nd noise continued, not tried other gears. Have jacked up each wheel, all spin by hand no noticeable problems. Finding when in reverse there are no problems and all normal, no grinding, clutch and brakes all as normal. Shift to 1st or 2nd gear pull away and clutch feel strange and a small thump as it comes in, as the car moves the crunching grinding starts, depress clutch and the car will roll with no noise. I am thinking if it’s clutch/flywheel and/or gearbox related then not worth the expense. I am thinking perhaps I am missing something, bearing/driveshaft’s. I would like to know exactly what the problem is without spending to much, good chance the car is scrap but………… Is this a familiar scenario, should I be looking or trying something ?
  26. My Mk7.5 Zetec S

Thank you dude! Thank you for the advice, I have been hearing bad things about CEUK more and more on Fiesta Facebook pages; so I think I will go for some Auto-beam headlights - really want to get some white ones in, the dull yellow tinge is really getting to me haha! :) Sorry for the slow reply, haven't been on this in a while
  27. I thought i would share this as most cheap stuff are terrible but this kit is A1,if i want monitor on i press the red socket top if not no power at all. Camera only works in Reverse and if not no power in the wires as i wanted it as then it saves battery.
