where can I get brand new but cheap pulleys/tensioners from?

Featured Replies

Hi, gotta replace my timing belt and other belts on my 1.8d van- r reg, I'm also replacing all of the seals behind the pulleys etc. I've bought a cam seal from pma and the belts, the other two seals I got from lifestyle ford in Horsham and the reason I'm doing the seals is cos one of the !Removed! things is leaking oil all over the place including over the drivers side wheel, which coupled with the rain yesterday I think might have been the reason I slid off the road with my 4 year old daughter in the motor :o luckily we weren't hurt and the van escaped any sign of injury too!

anyways, I asked a mechanic how much it would be to do the work for me and he says he'll do the whole job cheap @ £150 but he says I should replace the pulleys and tensioners at the same time, phoned ford and they say £123 for the 2 tensioners and 2 pulleys that I will need (is that right? only 2 of each?? I thought there would be 3 of each :S)

I dont really wanna pay that much for 4 little things like that, I'm a window cleaner and obviously at the mo the weather is sh*t so money is tight....... does anyone know of a place that I can buy these bits from and cheap? Ive tried ebay but no joy :(

And if anyone round this way (west sussex) wants to earn £50 doing this job for me gimme an email [email protected], I'm sure the right man/woman for the job could do it with their eyes shut, obviously I dont mind helping to get the job done!!!

Nice 1 ;)
