Escort Mk6 1997 Drive Shaft Issue Or Clutch?

Hello,

I have a MK6 R 1998 Escort, i took a left turn and when i changed down into 2nd, it would not bite and give power to the wheels, i thought maby the clutch had gone, so got a tow home.

So, ive just been and took off the passenger wheel and Turned the Brake disc and it turned but the drive shaft did not.

When its put in gear and the clutch let out the Drive shaft spins, but im able to hold the Disc and the shaft spins, is this a drive shaft faliure?

    Had another look and it is the Drive shaft.
