Hi people,

Im looking for some advice, i may be buying a 1.8 diesel, 1996 model ford escort encore

a few things i wanted to know was firstly what bhp and torque does it have, also whether it's any good and what common problems were.

any advice would be most helpful.

    Hi and welcome to the site.

    The 1.8 derv lump is very good and strong.

    I think its a 60bhp at 4500rpm unit with 110lbs/ft of tourque at 2500rpm

    Not really any common problems that i know of.

    Not sure if this info is 100% correct but know its not very far off.

    thanks for the info i think i will buy it tomorrow, sort of an upgrade from what i currently drive which is a seat arosa.
