Jamz
Hi Guys, Trying to get my AC working again, after one day it just stopped working.... (might have even been after the alternator got changed) Gas levels are fine, relays are fine and the fuses are all fine too.... When I press the AC button, it lights up, but the actually compressor does not magnetise and spin :( Anyone else had this problem on their Focus, can I hell find anything that seems to be loose. btmaldon
Are you sure the Gas level is fine and hasn't leaked out? Was the AC used regularly, even through the Winter?

Was the AC used regularly, even through the Winter? if the compressor is not spinning and clicking gas is ok belts are tight fuses okay youre compressor may have ceased and split the input shaft this can be diagnosed by an aircon specialist from the yellow pages if thats the case be prepared to get the cheque book out as to fix this you need a new compressor a new canister the whole system flushed all new seals etcetc pricew from a specialist around 700 ford around 1300 i seriously suggest you get a specialist they will attach equipment to the hoses and test the system it could be a preessure switch of which there are 2 or a temp sensor on the aircon none of which you can test youreself
