Where Is The Unit That Controls Remote Locking?

Featured Replies

I need to start digging around to see whether my Ranger has a Remote/Keyless Locking Unit or not (i.e. the box that listens for a remote button to be pressed to lock/unlock the doors). Where did Ford put these boxes/units on the 2004 mk2 Ranger (Super Cab)?

Or any other way to check for a sign of it existing somewhere?

Thought I'd best post an update after taking half the interior apart to find the unit. On the mk2 (2004), the unit is on the passenger side (left) towards the left of the glove-box. The glove box needs to be removed. I had a white unit made by Visteon. The unit was model number 41607 which works with a 41601 key fob. Purchased a second-hand keyfob and programmed it to the unit. All working for over a week now :).
