ALL-NEW FORD FOCUS: THE BEST JUST GOT BETTER

* Added value that includes more equipment and price reductions

* New technology at affordable prices

* Reduced cost of ownership

* New Sport and Titanium series added to the range

BRENTWOOD, 13 SEPTEMBER, 2004 – The sophisticated all-new Ford Focus goes on sale 1st January 2005, with an exciting new range, set to be a major hit with UK buyers. Prices start from £10,895 on the road.

The all-new Focus will offer class-leading driving dynamics, increased specification including new technologies, improved safety and a smart new interior package, with Studio and LX models also boasting reduced 'on-the-road' prices.

The entry-level Focus 1.4 receives over £125 of standard equipment compared with the previous Focus CL in addition to having a lower on-the-road price of £10,895. Standard equipment across the range includes:

* ABS (Anti lock brakes)

* Headlamp leveling

* Glove box and cargo illumination

* Power central locking

* Driver, passenger and side airbags

* Curtain airbags from LX upwards

* Driver seat manual height adjustment

* Seat - Rear 60/40 Split

* Anti-theft alarm system

* Power front windows

Running costs will be minimised on the new vehicle thanks to competitive insurance ratings - starting from 4E - and a broad range of economical petrol and diesel engines. Focus pioneers Ford’s sophisticated new 115PS, 1.6-litre Duratec Ti-VCT engine with Variable Camshaft Timing that improves airflow and delivers more power and torque while reducing average fuel consumption by up to five per cent. The range also includes the frugal and refined 1.6-litre TDCi, capable of a combined 58.9mpg or a range of over 700 miles on a full tank of fuel.

Beyond the entry-level Studio series, the new model range delivers outstanding value for money with every series gaining additional equipment, whilst providing customers with two clear paths - the comfort of LX and Ghia models or the sporty character of the Sport and Zetec models.

Customers who opt for the luxury of Ghia models will receive an additional £1,200 worth of features including air conditioning, front fog lights, quick clear windscreen, automatic rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and CD multi-changer.

In addition the range is topped by a new Titanium series, a contemporary, sporty alternative to Ghia with high trim levels and the availability of the three-door body style.

The next generation Ford Focus provides customers with an array of affordable new technology:

* KeyFree system

* Bluetooth technology

* Voice control system

* Rear seat entertainment

* Adaptive front lighting

* Solar reflect windshield

* Power adjustable pedals (Summer 2005)

* Dual electronic automatic temperature control

* Sport wheels
