JonnyT
Hello Recently on my 2006 Ford Ka the speedo has stopped working and the ABS and Engine Management lights have come on. Took it to Ford who have quoted me £1200 to have the ABS ECU replaced!! Really dont fancy paying this and have looked into getting the ABS ECU repaired. Is this worth doing? Will I need to have it re-programmed after its repaired or should it just be able to be fitted straight back into the car? Any help on this would be much appreciated Jonny
digidash
did the dealer take car on testdrive with pc hooked up? the ecu has a problem that incorrectly shows vss/abs problems which can lead to an inexperienced tech condeming abs ecu. did they give you a fault code? regards steve
mr gaga
Oh dear, this makes me dislike Ford quite a fair bit some times. It's more than likely an ABS sensor that's busted. In the newer Ka's there is no VSS, instead the feed is from the ABS unit. Just had to sign up just to post this.
