How to remove rear hub escort van (2002)?

Hi,just registered,ive owned many escorts/fords since 1987 when i passed my test,the latest being my 2002 ford escort diesel van,

have changed rear brake shoes before ,but not on the van ,when i removed wheel all i can see is the grease cap that will not come off,

will damage if i continue,there are no screws as with the cars ? there is a small bit on it i dont recognise about the size of a wheel balance

weight? can anyone advise me so i dont have to pay garage! Thanks Pete

Dont you take the centre cap off with a small screwdriver and then undo the centre nut ( anti-clock-wise ) then tap the hub off.
