Help with topping up the water!

Hi this sounds like a really blonde and simple question but i think my water may need topping up but im not sure which one it is, there is a choice of two and i think one is brake fluid? Im not quite sure and really need help otherwise it may result in my car being blown up! :(

I could probably help you. The one which is not coloured is water. Now in the radiator circuit you might refer to as water needed (you are not talking about water to blow on the windscreen, are you?) it might be blue, green or red - UK guys will led us to understand what is the common refrigerator liquid sold in UK supermarkets/ service stations in my coutry it is blue/green.

No kidding swear.

Normally Ford use a red anti-freeze. As Andrei says is it your windscreen washers that are empty. You really dont want to be putting antifreeze in there. You'll seriously damage your paint if you do. If you're not sure, pop to a repair garage, most will do a free check and top up anything that needs topping up for a reasonable charge for materials. Better than guessing and getting it wrong.

This picture show under the bonnet of the Ford Ka (hopefully yours looks something like this)!

A = power steering reservoir;

B = engine coolant;

C = engine oil dipstick;

D = engine oil filler;

E = brake fluid reservoir;

F = windscreen washer bottle

Thanks for the replies i probably didnt make myself too clear! When i say water i mean not the water for the windscreen but the water tht goes with the oil if you see what i mean! i checked my oil and it was fine and i know how to do tht, but the water i think may need topping up but im really not sure which 'container' to fill up lol and i heard tht if i dont check my water regularly the car will overheat or something and may possibly blow up??

Ah in this case you need the anti-freeze. On tune1rat's picture it is marked with B. Don't put water there, it will freeze as it is below zero at night. Get to the nearest supermarket or service station and buy a bottle of anti-freeze of the same colour as in the tank B.

Thanks so much for the diagram it has really helped! now i understand lol i thought the brake fluid reservoir was my water oops! But now i know its not so thank you again :)
