Hi all can anyone help me out ;)

I have a 2002 mondeo estate ghia 2.0 tdci my problem is my car drive really well till i get in to 3rd or 4th gear and give it a good boost on the turbo taking above 2000 to 2500 revs then it goes in to limp mode and the glowplug light cut in and flashers but the engine still runs drives but the turbo stops working!!!

up to now before i start spend any any money i have pulled the vacum hose of the acumalator on the turbo and it as a strong vacum still and the acumalator is a bolted on the turbo and as no wires running to it i believei was told its the EGR needed cleaning out or was told to blank it off can anyone offer any good advice im pretty good with the spanners but not with the computer side

regards spike :)

It could be the EGR as you say.. its pretty simple to do, quite messy though.

you will need to get yourself some carb or injector type cleaner, prefferably a couple of tins.

there is a guide somewhere on the net.. let me find it

add www. to this..

if your handy with the spanners you will manage this one no problem

IMO its a good place to start, simple and relatively cheap to do. even if its not the cause.. a good clean of the EGR will never go wrong as the carbon will be building up inside..

Should take about 30-60mins. i found a little gasket puller/pick tool very helpful to get rid of the stubborn carbon from mine.

are you getting any black smoke when you accelerate hard?
