keith t
hi all, i have just bought some half leather seats for my escort of eBay very nice condition but they are electric oops. i have an N reg 1.4 lx so no electric seats in mine. will it be a major ball ache to wire them up ? i`ve not had a good look yet so i`m not sure what parts are electric, can i make them fit ? or can i bolt them in and wire them up to a spare battery until i get correct position then just leave them as that ? i`m sure there some clever cloggs with an answer for me. cheers keith
vinnyvangough
Its only the drivers seat that are electric. Just wire it in to an existing live supply. Or you could get a fuse box from a higher spec model, such as GTi or Ghia. That way you have the option for many for little additions
keith t
thanks for getting back to me with some info. i`ve not looked at it properly but under the seats that are in it at the moment there appears to be a wiring loom in black plastic attached to the seats passenger and drivers side. am i wright in thinking ford only use one wiring loom for all escorts and these wires will be for electric seats ? if not what are these wires for and why are they attached to the seats if there not electric ? cheers keith
