The indicators on my W reg Escort Van don't cancel themselves after I have turned. Does this mean I need a new controls stick or is there something else that I can check or do?

    it could be the clock spring is causing the problem with your indicators,there is a lug on the clock spring which cancels the indicators when the wheel is turned this breaks off and causes the problem. The easiest way to confirm this is to take off the column shroud and indicator stalk you can then see the clock spring turning and will be able to see if the lug is in fact broken off .

    I have a spare indicator// switch unit that you require you can have it for free if you come and get it im in newcastle,, I replaced mine thinking it was the fault,,, it wasnt so if ne1 wants it its theres!!!
