Hi, Try checking that your front disks are not worped, or the all the joints connected to the hub i.e wish bone, anti roll bar, track rod ends (steering arms) that should help

Fox

Dodgy tyres, wheels out of shape or balancing done incorrectly.

Swap the front wheels to rear and rears to the front

if it is the disks when you stop put your hand near the wheel and you will more then likely feel a lot of heat but i doubt very much it is that i think it is more then likely that the garage you went to did not do your tracking and ballancing just !Removed! you off with a top up on your power steering fluid if it was the brakes you would only realy expeirience the tremble on slowing down

I know that the bushes in the lower arms on the escorts wear out for a past time and cause these problems, maybe worth a check of all the joints around the lower arms.

I'd guess on a buckled wheel pal. Swap front wheels onto back and back onto fronts. If you're still having the problem look at bushes etc as suggested but I'd like to bet that would cure it. If it does you'll need to source a new wheel.

I have vibaration coming up mine too dont know yet mite take it to the local garage mine hits in at 70mph

Did you have just the front wheels balanced? I believe that an out of balance rear wheel can also be felt through the steering.

If a wheel was buckled I would have thought they would have brought that to your attention - but no guarantee.

Sounds more like the balancing was done incorrectly in the first place. Seeing as u have just had them done take it back and tell them it's worse than when you brought it in, they'll check them again!
