tdci engine problem

Featured Replies

Hi, : :D I am new to forums so if i drop a fubar then please be patient. I need some help/advice.

Has anybody suffered from the below problem, if so can you help this Newbie

I own a 2006 130 tdci 63,000mls i have had it since new.

It has been serviced on time and up till now no problems have occured.

However it now is starting to hold on to the engine speed when changing up or down the gearbox it holds at about the 2000rpm mark.

I am really at a loss. this is the second Mondeo that i have owned with the problem the other was a tddi with 180,000mls on the clock, so put it down to age and tiredness. So didnt expect this!

if its never been done i would start by cleaning out the egr valve, these valvs can often give running problems and are a good place to begine. see here.
