2001 Mondeo - turbo blown, available for spares...?

Hi, recently had the turbo blow on my 2001 Mondeo (newer shape) and am getting quotes of about £1,000 to fix. As I only bought it 5 months ago for £1,800 and have a baby on the way in January I'm in need of something more reliable. It's in good nick and only done 78K miles

How much do you think I could realistically get for it as spares and is it best to put it on Autotrader or ebay? Our local garages would only give me about £300 part-exchange but have nothing really worth buying.

Anyone interested or ideas on how I can get a semi-decent amount (maybe £500) for it as I expect a garage could fix for about £600 and then sell it for £1,500 minimum.....

Any help greatly appreciated.
