Hi all,
New here and hoping to be a regular just need to find a good Mondeo TDCI.
Here is a link to the car in question (please remove link if necessary):-

I am mainly buying this car for fuel economy and because my 2004 1.4 petrol Astra is terribly unreliable and costs me £140 per month in fuel travelling around 600 miles a month.
What should I be checking when viewing or driving the car, I have read here about the clogged up EGR problem but that looks easy enough to clean. I test drove the same 2003 model with similar mileage last weekend but the car was terrible and obviously a dodgy garage. The car was quick but would stutter twice through the range of the turbo. Then the car cut out on me at 30mph, luckily I managed to restart while costing. The only light on the dash was the orange coil. I suspect that car had injector problems from reading the forum posts also it had a scraping noise but I suppose this could have been due to not being driven in a while and discs rusty?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Chris
