Is there an easy way of doing this without bodging the door cards? I'm wanting to fit colour coded handles to the rear doors but obviously the winders are fitted rather snug with the clip so won't 'pull off'. I don't have any special tools to do it with so a 'back street method' is needed.

I always used a flat bladed screw driver.

Find the edge of the surclip, stick it behind, and turn the handle, and then off it pops.
