i'm new here so apologies for lack of details or wrong info.

on my 3dr escort i can unlock drivers door and lock it but not central locking can be heard and it only opens drivers door. the passenger side locks and unlocks i can hear the central locking working but it only unlocks the passenger side. am i right in thinking the immobliser only works on drivers side when the central locking activates? if not how does the alarm/immobiliser activate?

what could be the possible cause of the central locking failing and a possible cure?

hope someone can help as i am getting fed up of reaching over to let the missus in!!!
