hi i was offered a 2003 mondeo estate ghia tdci but has a starting problem basicly the man has to spay somthing like easy start down it and it will start and drive all day but as soon as he turns it off it wont start warm or cold but as soon as he sprays easy start down it it will start first time and run all day untill u turn it off again the car drive mint no rattles or knock turbo kicks in when it should no smoke drives spot on but the problem some one said it might be the sender unit but i dont know can someone give me some adive on this matter thanks

it could be the egr valve stuck open.

could i just take it off and have a look and clean it

this link will give you some idear on whats involved its for a euro 4 engine,yours i think will be a euro three so the valve may be in a different position on the engine and would not have the electrical connector on it.
