i have a escort 96 1.8 zetec
right the car starts fine from cold and runs fine to. when hot if left to stand for a few mins it will start but take about 10-20 secs to figher up also when hot the car starts to shudder at 50 90 mph like in the wrong gear . have had the car on a computer and there is no error codes. can any one help

I would try new spark plugs. £3 could solve your problem

have changed the plugs, ht leads, and coil problem still there.
the vibration has got worse now from 50 and on thing it may be a drive shaft.
and the starting prob separate.

You haven't curbed it lately and lost a wheel weight have you?
Have you checked the temp sensor and it's connections for the cold start program (which ever sensor/sensors it uses)?
What colour were the plugs (sooty/black all over or just the centre or just the outer threaded part - it makes a difference) when you changed them and were they all the same colour?
