Hi, just bought a Focus 1.6 with 60k on the clock, full service history, but i didnt notice any milage mark anywhere under the bonnet noting when the timing belt had been changed.

Couple of questions

Whats the recommended interval for it to be changed

also what would the rough labour costs of getting one fitted, or how long it should take a mechanic to fit it.

I was going to buy the kit myself from Euro Car parts

Any info would be appreciated

Thanks

10 YEARS OR 100K WHICHEVER COMES FIRST THOUGH ITS ADVISABLE TO CHANGE IT EARLY I GOT THE TIMING BELT KIT INCLUDING GUIDES ETC AND FAN BELT SUPPLIED AND FITTED FROM FORD RAPID FIT FOR 210 INCLUDING THE VAT AND LABOUR ONLY BUY THE GENUINE FORD KIT (oh nuts just realised my caps was on sorry guys) if you get it done by ford with ford parts its gauranteed fitting is usually a few hours as they will leave the car to cool first.the belt is checked at the service so its up to you wether you change or not
