I have a 2003 focus 1.8 zetec - there is a squeal/whine from the engine at the "fan" belt side and I'm wondering if the power steering pump has been known to show this as a symptom of its bearing drying out.

the noise goes away after the car has warmed up but I'd rather get this sorted before it gets any worse.


any advice welcome.

could be mate but could be that your belt if just getting old is your steering getting heavy or anything when its making the noise
