Hi All
going to give my car (2.0 tdci durotorq mk 4) oil/filter change every 5000 miles need advice.
is it acceptable (will it do any harm) to use 5w/40w fully synth instead of recomended 5w/30w semi synth?
car has done 20k miles.
just that i want to look after my car. but wonder if 40w may be to thick when warmed up(may be best for higher milage)
thanks for any replies

it does say in the book alternatives can be used as long as they meet spec defined by WSS-M2C913-B 5w/30 (preferred) or SAE 5W/40 or 10W/40 that meets the spec defined by ACEA A1/B1.
this is in owners handbook pg218
anyway hope it is O.K. its is in now had it done yesterday.
thanks again will keep you posted
