Hi all ive just joined and heres the first problem im hoping to get some clues on.

Ive just bought a 2001 Mondeo 1.8 and the air con isnt working.

Things ive checked so far......

All fuses are fine (excluding relays)
Gas is normal pressure
A/C button on console works and lights up, with it left on for a few mins the fan does cut in but i get no cold air, cooler is clear, no leaves.

Still no joy

Any ideas?

Could it be a sticky solanoid on the compressor? Or a diode problem

Hi
Open the bonnet with engine running. Get somebody to help to turn the a/c on. Do you hear any difference in the engine ?
