coming home from work tonight moved in 5th gear and bang then know drive in any gear, car his a 52 mondeo tdci any ideas, car runs ok and when towed home made know funny sounds

could be a clutch problem was there any noises prior to to the bang? it could also be the dreaded dmf collapsed lets without stripping the gearbox off its hard to tell.hopes its not the dmf as a £600 bill soon follows.sorry to be the bearer of bad news but its good to see another beer town member

thanks for your help, dont want to sound daft but whats a dmf, there was no noise before it went just a bang as if it jump out of gear, yes i to was thinking i was the only beer towner on here
