hi there. i'm new to this website so may not have gone the right way about this but need help figuring out whats wrong with my gti. decided to give the engine a good clean the other day and used my dads steam cleaner. since doing this its been misfiring constantly and seems to have dropped a cylinder. any ideas whats wrong and how i can fix the problem without sending it 2 a garage as moneys tight. thanks for looking. regards Jamie.

NO! not the steam clean. Tiz why tiz good to run the engine at idle when cleaning....covering the air intake...you know a soon as you hit something dodgy!!
Bound to be water in plugwell or a lead gone from steam clean!

hi there. checked the plug holes and plugs. gave the plug holes a good blast out with air compressor and definately no water there now. someone else told me could be a plug lead gone so think i'll start there and see what happens. ordered new plugs today aswell just for safe measure. thanks for the replys
