OK, I see that nobody here seems to know what sort of battery the keyfob of an Escort 98 takes, which i find a bit strange, but anyway, i've tried some round battery's that i bought from pound world but none of them work,so im thinking there must be a specific type!
Is there a specific type of battery that i need to get it working, and if so could someone let me know please as i can't find any info anywhere?
Thanks!

I honestly dont know.
Best bet would be to ring Ford or pop into a local dealer or Halfrauds or something

vinnyvangough......thanks for replying!, i probably will end up at fords but first i would like to see if i can fix it myself for free, - i think there might be a small metal plate thats missing, not sure though? - curious,do you know what the inside of the Escort [98] key fob consists of? i think there should be a small metal connection plate for the back of the battery to touch?, this missing part would explain why its not working?,but again i don't know for sure, could do with some help on this? - Anyone??
