Hi, anyone able to give me or point me to a diagram of auxillary belt run on 1.6 Zetec 16V engine (1998), with power steering and air con? Mine came off before I could draw a picture of how it runs.

nice 1 lublin, that was helpful! any idea how long a job like this would take for a man with the right tools? bearing in mind i'm ordering the cam holding tool off ebay to do the cam belt too!

I don't know about the cam belt but the auxiliary belt look extremely easy to do when I watched a mechanic replace it after I had a idler wheel replaced. If you're replacing the cam belt then I would also do the water pump at the same time. Check the bearings in the rollers for the aux belt too as I've had two go noisy in a short space of time.
Don't let the parts shop sell you a Mondeo water pump telling you it's the same because they run backwards if used on an Escort, I have had one or two idiots here try to sell me Mondeo parts telling me 'they're the same'.
