Full Version: Galaxy Hydraulic Clutch Problems.

Hello you helpful people.

Straight to the point.

Went to car this morning, very cold so I warmed car up for 30 mins.

While running I noticed the Clutch was soft and only springing back slightly. I could not engage any gears and instantly thought "clutch cable" but I have now found that the galaxy has a hydraulic clutch. :blink:

I have a small amount of clear greasy liquid on the ground below the gearbox.

Might this require a whole new clutch kit? or perhaps there's a common problem with the clutch?

Any advise / help would be great.

hi danny mc i dont own a galaxy but if its a hydraulic clutch then you should have a resevoir, check the level because it seems you have none left, and air and hydraulic fluid dont mix. you probably have a clutch master cylinder down on the gearbox and i suspect the seals have gone on this. you can often get repair kits but i would think you could get a new/refurbished one relatively cheap. try and confirm where the leak is coming from as it may be just a split hydraulic hose.

sounds like the pipe to the slave cylinder is leaking or it might be the slave cylinder itself. the clutch probably shares the same resevoir as the brakes, so check this and see if its low.
