I've just bought an escort 1999 TD. 60k on the clock.
She starts (if plugs are heated twice) no problem. Then may run OR cuts out. If she runs, she runs fine no problem, pottering around town, starts again okay. If I go on a long run above 60mph, then stop. I have starting problems straight away.
If she starts in the morning and I don't drive it, then retry (to replicate the fault) it will start and stop all day - only occurs following a run.
I've replaced the primer pump and put a one way valve, fuel tank side of the primer pump. To get it going sometimes, I need to bleed the system, pumping the primer alone does not work.
Where else could she be sucking in air? No diesel leaks.
Should I just replace the injector pump? Its the only bit inbetween.
Thanks.

i would certainly change the fuel filter possible fuel starvation and also the seal around the filter there have been many issues detailed in the forum with regards dodgy filters causing all number of issues and also air being drawn in through the filter housing. also injector seals have been known to cause problems.

Try checking the fuel pipe from the tank to filter for restrictions, you should be able to draw fuel through with litte or no effort.
