Hey everyone, basically i need some help with the fiesta MK6.5 aux socket. the lead i was using to connect to my ipod somehow snapped the end off. so this tiny piece of metal has got stuck in the aux socket. the black plastic fascia looks like it can be removed. anybody got any ideas on what to do or how to remove it?
hi, did you figure out how to do it? ive done exactly the same
If you can get behind where the face plate is mounted, the cable plugs in to the back of it.
Pull the socket out of the face plate and you should be able to hook the metal bit out of the socket.
If you try to remove the face plate you will have to destroy it as it locks into place and can only be removed by snapping lugs off it.
AFAIK ford do not sell the face plates by themself so it would mean a whole new cable - £19 + VAT.

To get to the contacts where you've snapped off the metal end, you need to dismantle the Face plate but will most certainly have to break it to do so.

Dismantled, it looks like this,
As you can see bits were broken in doing so.
There are 2 flat clips on the side of the face plate that lock down to stop the parts coming adrift but are hidden under other flaps so to be honest i think you'll have to buy a new kit just for the face plate as i really can't see how you can take it apart without knackering it.
