Hi all,
I've just bought a 2002 Focus 1.6 zetec after finally getting fed up with my crappy astra.
It came with a key with a built in remote, but also got a spare transponder (little black square one).
Ideally i'd like a spare set of keys, so my question is can I just get a new key cut and use it with the spare transponder, or is it more complicated than that?
Any help appreciated!
cheers

if its only the remote you have, all you need to do is train the car to your new chip in the key. its simple enough to do, but I would suggest flashing both keys at the same time...

It's often not as easy as just training the car to the new transponder.
Is it actually just the chip from a key?
If it is, a decent key-maker should be able to scan it and tell you. Then cut you a key for the chip to fit into.
