Focus 1.6 tdci 2005
After my car making a whining sound once it hit around 2000rpm, I took it into the garage today only to be told that I need a new turbo! Great
Mr mechanic said its going to be around £1000 to supply a new turbo, all parts (hoses etc...) and labour. Again, great...
Now, unfortunately I don't have that sort of money lying around so I'm looking into supplying parts and fitting it myself. I have a haynes manual and it 'looks' pretty straight forward even though haynes are giving it a 4 out of 5 difficulty rating?
Could anyone please shed any light on the work I am hoping to carry out? i.e. parts that must be replaced once removed, things I MUST do, or things that could go wrong if I were to not follow procedure correctly, apart from ruining the £500 turbo I would of paid for!
Thank anyone who can help in advance!
