HTC Desire, Ford Fiesta Titanium, with Sony Audio
Voice Number dialling works
but not Name
ford mobile connectivity says the "mobile name command is not supported by the phone"
any updates or are there any apps that would enable me to call contacts via bluetooth by name?

Not sure but if it is the same as the system in my Focus, you have to store the name in the system first. Mine has the Sat/nav and voice control system as part of the Communications Pack.
Press voice button and after the beep say "Store Name". Then follow instructions where you repeat the name, then provide the number and then finish with the word store.
Hope its the same for your system.

thanks I will give that a try
it is rather odd, i can view my phonebook manually via the radio, but not voice name it says directory empty, and according to the ford mobile connectivity site, it says it doesnt support name dialling, it works ok if i tell the system to dial a phone number but that means trying to remember a lot of phone numbers!!!!
but your idea may work i hope otherwise its a case of waiting for an update or downgrading my desire to my old Nokia
thanks again
