I have an 03 ford fusion that seems to overheat even after a short journey , the temp gauge is on normal but when we looked under the bonnet the smell is overpowering , not a burning smell as such but a really hot smell ,we have to put water in the radiator every week , around a pint, not normal is it ? what could be the cause ?
Thanks , Trish

Hey trish
it could be a leaking water pump. you dnt notice anything on the floor under neath the car when it has been stood ??

try what I said above and check whether the pipes from the radiator to the engine are going/getting hard (under preasure) if they still feel soft when the engine is hot it means that the system is not preasurizing, then try a new radiator cap(expansion bottle cap)
