Hi i am new to this forum so be gentle with me. I have recently purchased a ford focus zetec (Automatic) 2007 (57) 1.6. I need to purchase a lockable fuel cap but am unable to find one anywhere. I know that the fuel filler flap locks when the car locks but i would like a fuel cap that is lockable as well. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

Given that the car provides a secure mechanism via the flap I can't see why anyone would make a locking cap.
You may be searching for something that doesn't exist.

Hi, and not required because anyone who really wants your fuel will drill a hole in the tank...

I Agree with Nigel, basically the issue is that these necks are not designed for lockable caps, there most likely wont be any grips for a secure catch to get in contact with, it is literally a screw in and unscrew mechanism.
Take a look at your filler neck you will see there are no gaps on the side where a lockable catch would engage

Have you tried Halfords? They sell them, including the screw threaded type. They claim to fit 90% of car types.

I went to Halfords a couple of months ago but they didnt have one. I shall go back and find out if they stock them. My petrol cap is a bayonet type not screw type. Your help is appreciated thanks.

They dont appear to sell this type of fuel cap on their website. I shall go to Halfords today and let you know if they stock them or if they are able to point me in the right direction. As Nigel S replied earlier i may indeed be searching for something that doesnt exist. Once again thanks for all the replies.
