I seen to have a tapping noise on my car,

I have never took a car engine apart and was wondering if it's advisable to do so with limited exp , if I told it to a garage how much would it coat to do ??? I need help with my car it's only done 37k and wondering what's the best option to do with my know how on cars which isn't much at all

my '51' plate astra had that problem, i aint got a clue so just sold it for easiest thing lol

I have been reading up on it , it's that type of engine , needs doing every 6 mths or so, gonna get it done by a friend of a friend mancanic ,
