been reading old reviews on programing a keyfob .as i only got 1 key when i got
the car it was the one with a bit of blue on the corner so not sure if i will need
a auto locksmith

I bought one off eBay myself mate, you can programme it to lock and unlock the doors and boot, yourself the instructions are in the Ford owners handbook, you turn on and off the ignition a couple of times then when it beeps press lock on each of the fobs you want to use with the car, then turn the ignition off again, you will hear another beep, and your done all fobs work on the car, its along those lines of method,

if you don’t have this let me know and ill copy word for word from the handbook to explain how to do it,

the next part is getting the key cut,
this needs to be done by Laser I’ve yet to get mine cut to shape guessing around £30 figure, it needs to be done by a certain type of locksmith.

The third part is this,
I think there may be another chip in the top of the key that works with the immobiliser in the car’s ignition, I’m not sure about this but I too would also like clarification on this part.

also when you purchase a spare un-cut key from e-bay or anywhere make sure not to insert the un-cut key in to your car’s ignition as it won’t come out again unless its cut to suit the car,
resulting in your car needing to be towed to the garage, very unpleasant experience, happened a member of the site, I remember reading

All considered I still reckon you can save at least £50 getting the key done yourself compared to getting it from ford dealers.

keep an eye on ebay their are flip versions of this key available the same as the new key,
since your getting one you might aswell get the latest model ill try link you to one

that's great, ill have to travel 138Km to my local specialist dealer to get mine laser cut so will cost me half the price of yours on travel expenses alone,
their was a listing on eBay before, I’m sure it's been removed since,
but it was some guy offering to post you a key cut and programmed for your car all you had to do was include your chassis number when paying via PayPal,
id be afraid they would arrive with the key and take your car sounded too dodgy for my liking

I have one blue chip key. I am waiting for another blue chip key from Timpsons. If the timpsons key works, as they say it will..transponder n'all. Does this mean that, as I will soon have two keys, I can programme a fob ( third key) myself?

If so, it could be cheaper than just buying a blank fob and getting Ford to programme it..

I have read as much as possible about this, but I don't think this specific question has been answered.
