Ford focus 1.8 2004 petrol

Hi all, new to the forum and a sad first post

Seems I'm having a spot of bother, I noticed a noticeable clunk when you
jerk it right. When done the other way to revs drop noticeably. Driving it
feels fine, perhaps a bit heavier when compared with a mk4 golf but
different cars an all. There is no loss of power steering fluid.

I'm just wondering is this a sign of a failing PAS rack ? or is there some
other reason for the clunk?

If it is is this an expensive repair ahead for me ?

My girlfriend has the automatic so to rest my foot i put it to the left of the brake pedal, I sometimes feel a clunk like something is falling out of place... supposably it is alright...its a 57 plate but ive been told that everything is normal and safe

is this the same thing you are getting, [url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=HK&hl=zh-TW&v=ATjdVu1Ff-Q"]http://www.youtube.c...W&v=ATjdVu1Ff-Q[/url] if ti is, its a common fault on early ford focus's, you will need a new rack try and get a new one fitted, and keep away from useing recon racks. it cost me loads to get my sons fixed, two recon racks and sill no good, in the end got ford to fit a new one, that fixed it, that was two years ago, don't waste your time and money on a cheap fix, you will pay for it in the end.. and yes it will cost you loads. also my son's focus was a 1999...
