Hi

Not too long ago some B*****d cut the rear window out of my lovely 04 street ka with a knife. Can't find anything on the web about this type of crime. Has anyone here been a victim of this?

That’s a new low mate,
i live in Ireland and we never had anything that bad over here neither,
to make even more strange the rear window in the Ka hasn’t changed since they were first manufactured so the breakers would have one to fit all Ka's regardless of the year,
so its hardly a sought after part.. maybe they were trying to quietly steal your car and decided to cut the window rather than break it, but then again the KA isn’t really a getaway car either,
hope you get it replaced mate,
also check e-bay for a replacement, you may even find your old one....

thats a good point Lenny. surely if the window is the original one it will have a unique number on it also?

It's a plastic panel and has no ID on it. Not heard of it before but let's face it they won't stop at anything these days.

in that case then id be 99% sure they were attempting to rob the car itself,
which makes it kind of worse,

And cops over here are useless any way but from what I've seen on the TV your guys take no Gyp!
That's the way it should be,
people work damn hard for what they have got and even harder these days,
whatever about robbing a bank or something from a shop it's still crime and I don't console it but in those cases everyone still returns to the safety of their own homes and prized possessions,

I've been broken in to twice where I used to live four years ago and it's the most horrible, horrible feeling,
you don't know if they will be back again for something else they saw or even when they're coming and the cops caught them the second time but let them off with 2 months sentence, and I was still at loss of my possessions which I had worked damn hard for,
its completely wrong!
Id love to catch the ******* id be the one doing the time but it would be worth it in that case.

Sorry my rant may have gone slightly off the main topic of the rear window, but its still on the same subject in a way, as I'm very frustrated at the thought of this Lady having his prized possession put in to jeopardy,

Due to some Low Life Joy Rider that sees it as one of the list from Gran-Turismo

Anyone else share my view on this?

Thank you everyone, sadly there's no way I can just replace the window as the fiends have also cut through the roof mechanism as well. So I've had to claim on my insurance and get the whole roof replaced. Interestingly I was speaking to the mechanic who did it and apparently theres a gang in my area going around stealing the windows to order and the next week the same thing happened to a friends street ka as well (not me honest lol).

Lenny that sounds awful what gives thieving scumbags the right to touch peoples hard earned property.
