I'm a car repair novice so want some advice.

My Ford Mondeo (2010)got a minor damage to Left side view mirror along with minor scratch to the left passenger door. There are about a couple of hairline size scratches on the right door.

I took it to a Ford dealer who gave me an estimate of £1250 to repair. When I said what? He replied all doors and front bumpber need to be repainted to avoid color mismatch. I told its just a 1 year old car, how much mismatch we can get. Clearly, I was disappointed as I thought the guy didn't give a solution that was proportionate to the needs but wanted to make money.

Any suggestions on more realistic options. All I want is left view mirror replacement and scratch removals, spending £ 1250 see just too much. I've an Insurance with excess of £250 so want to get it done cheaper to get NCB.

Try an independant body shop, they will be cheaper

Use Chips Away or similar to get rid of your scratches. It will only be a fraction of Fords ridiculous quote.

Never use a main dealer for body repairs.
