Hi, I've been looking round for a Mondeo. I've spotted on a website a 2004 ghia. It's very high miles at 160 000(!), the seller knows nothing of the clutch/flywheel but says it runs very well, there is also a fsh. The mot is until next jan, and tax until August.
It's up for 950 and the seller is open to offers.
Any idea what I should offer , or leave this well alone?
Any opinions would be appreciated!

Best bet is having a look through recipts but i recon it would be about due now unless a previous owner got it done on the cheap (ie chash in hand)

I had a 2001 tddi ghia and the flywheel went ford wanted 1800 to do it but I sorced the parts and got a local garage to do it in all it cost me 550 well worth doing a check like previous comment as its a small fortune plus surely u can find a lower milage car for that price

How would you know if the clutch/flywheel was on its way out? I've got a lazy starter motor on mine and am getting it changed, but have taken it to two mechanics. One who says the starter motor fault is caused by the flywheel, another who says not.

What would be the giveaway signs of a flywheel on its last legs?
