In my fiesta i have a 6000cd player if i was to get a sony 6cd chnger stereo would this fit in and work ok, basically can i just do a straight swop.

As long as it's not from a Mondeo - yes.

Connections are the same - quadlock - but the mondeo radio is deeper ( the mounting spike at the back is much shorter too) and the fascia is angled to match the dash apeture.

Easiest way to tell is to look at the front of the radio, if the grey trim around the fascia looks wider at the top than the bottom it's from a mondeo.

If it's an even rectangular shape all around the radio then it will be fine.

As long as the info was of use to you.
Do be aware that some sellers on eBay list radios for Focus / Mondeo / Fiesta as they're either ignorant to the fit or really don't care and just want a sale.
Make very sure that they are [u]NOT[/u] Mondeo ones as they really will not fit and at the prices they go for you really need to be totally satisfied that they will fit.

Update, Radio bought and fitted. Very nice too.
