Had my car for 4 days now and noticed that the fuel guage seems to have a mind of it's own. Parked facing downhill today and when I started it the fuel light came on and showed almost empty. Then on the way to petrol station I noticed that it showed half full. Carried on driving and a few minutes later it was quarter. I used to have an Escort van which was a bit floaty. Is this normal on Mondeos'?

Your fuel sender is knacked by the sound of it.
It's basically a unit that works on resistance on a coil or circuit and if corroded or damaged will send false readings.
Never had to replace one before so can't help you as to location or procedure but sure someone can advise you better on that.
