Sorry I know this subject has come up often but I was told by the salesman when buying my car it has a DPF, when I asked the service department was the DPF covered in the smart service plan they said my car hasn't got one? I've checked that ETIS thingy and there's no mention on there?

I used this when picking my company car

All New Focus diesels have DPF.

I doubt it would be covered though, it would be seen to be a consumable and likely wouldnt be covered by the plan

DPF's are now standard to make them Euro 4 or 5 compliant or even 6 when its out.
the only fords that i know off that dont have DPFs are the 1.8tdci's and maybe 2.0tdci (pre-2007)

Hi Sarah, you DPF is maintenance free, thus if its the same as was fitted to my Mk4 Mondeo then you can expect well over 100,000 miles from it as long as you make sure a regular regen happens. To be honest, and please don't take this as patronising, stop worrying about things just drive it and enjoy...

Hi Chris,
I'm not worried it was just something i wanted to clear up thats all, when i bought the car i was told by the saleman it has a DPF and as i owned a car before with a DPF i knew what to expect with regular additive refills and replacement at 75K etc.
Thanks for the info about the new type of DPF that's good news and yes I'm enjoying the car very much.
Cheers
Sara
