Thinking of buying a mk2.5 09 plate 1.8 petrol focus with 32k on the clock.Question is, it's advertised as having full service history but only has two stamps in service book.Also any opinions on the 1.8 petrol compared to the 1.6 on economy etc.Thanks. in advance.

Service history sounds right - serviced 2010/2011 - so probably due a service soon.
If it's from a dealer i'd be cheeky and ask if the service is due and push for one before you buy.
It's obviously going to be less economical than a 1.6 but the extra power will make it far more driveable.
What sort of mileage and what sort of driving will you be doing?
If it's lots of motorway / A roads and a fair distance each day then a diesel would suit more.
If it's purely to and from work and city roads then petrol will be best.

I do about 6_7k a year mostly town driving.Good idea to ask dealer for a service if i decide to buy it.

[color=#0000ff][size=5][font=comic sans ms,cursive]Just out of interest, the 1.8 petrol engine is a Mazda MZR engine made in Spain under licence by Ford, driven carefully you will get about 37 + MPG out of it. It performs better than the 2ltr engine in my last 1999 Mondeo,(more go 5mpg better on fuel). [/font][/size][/color]

dont be shy ask the dealer for a service as part of the deal

Petrol is definitely your best choice then.
Remember that it's a buyers market right now.
It doesn't hurt to push your luck as they won't want you walking off the lot with their commission in your pocket.

i live and work in South London, i drive 9 miles everyday in town. The trip computer says my average speed is 11 mph. I get roughly 25mpg from it. If i were to drive a longer distance to work i will get a better mpg: by the time i reached work (4.5 miles away) the car has just reached optimal operating temperature.

[color=#0000ff][size=5][font=comic sans ms,cursive]25 MPG is not bad for short journeys in South London, the on board computer won't give a near accurate reading until you have covered about 400 miles, the accuracy does vary but most are within 5%.[/font][/size][/color]
